Directorate General of Africa

The Directorate General of Africa is responsible for bilateral and multilateral relations with African countries; Regional Economic Communities, Rwanda on the continent, as well as the African Union. The Department ensures that relations are maintained and strengthened through political dialogue and engagements on different topics of mutual interest including economic, political, cultural, scientific and social issues. Political dialogue and engagements are conducted through bilateral meetings/consultations; exchange of high level and technical visits, parliamentary visits, as well as economic missions. The Department also supports the coordination of development and economic cooperation programs between Rwanda and international partners in the Department’s jurisdiction, e.g. implementation of development cooperation programs/projects; negotiations and signing of cooperation agreements in different sectors.
