Minister of State Prof. Nshuti Manasseh receives copies of credentials of High Commissioner of Barbados to Rwanda
Kigali, 9th November 2022 - Minister of State in charge of East African Community, Prof. Nshuti Manasseh received copies of credentials of William Alexander McDonald, High Commissioner-designate of Barbados to Rwanda, with residence in Nairobi, Kenya.
Rwanda and Barbados formalized diplomatic relations since July 2015. The two countries share several interest and commitments on international community, including their membership to the United Nations, Commonwealth of Nations and Organization for Africa, and Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS).
To further strengthen bilateral relations, both countries signed Air Services Agreement and Sports Cooperation Agreement. The signing ceremony took place in Kigali on Wednesday, 9th November 2022.
Moreover, under the Commonwealth framework, Rwanda and Barbados have recently waived visas for their citizens visiting respective countries for up to 30 days.
Barbados is an island country located in the Caribbean region, North America. It is one of 56 member States of the Commonwealth since 2021 when it became a republic. Its economy is mainly driven by foreign investment, tourism and international trades.
